With penthouse options dwindling, it was a breath of fresh air to see this 2-story showplace at Metropolis come on the market. I don’t know if you have been shopping around for condos (or single-family homes for that matter), but the really great homes are getting harder and harder to find.
This amazing condominium has been achieved by combining two smaller penthouse units into a single space. The result? Over 3,600 square feet of interior space in the middle of Midtown at Metropolis. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill combined condo. This was a seamless blend of two spaces. One where you can’t tell what was existing and what was added. I’ve been in a good number of combo units and many leave me wondering “why did they do that?” This wasn’t the case here.
Interior designer Lee Bryan was hired to turn the adjoining two units into one stunning, contemporary space. He integrated the electronics into one home automation system and then turned his thoughts on furnishings and artwork. He did an amazing job. (Lee also does more traditional designs as well.) Condo living has its challenges when the buyer is looking for significant outdoor space. There are very few condominiums in Atlanta that offer decent outdoor space, let alone massive spaces. Spaces big enough to have an outdoor kitchen, hot tub, covered areas and outdoor dining/lounging areas. Look no more. This huge terrace can be found at Aqua Midtown at Penthouse 2301. We took a look at the inside space a couple days ago, so today we’ll explore the outside. Hopefully you will see why this penthouse is one of my favorites in Midtown. Above is the stunning Downtown view from one of the terraces. Click Here for More Photos & the Rest of the Feature

There aren’t too many penthouses in Atlanta where you can find just as much exterior space as interior space, but this penthouse at Aqua Midtown has both. Best of all, it has never been occupied so you don’t really have to deal with any “mistakes” the previous owner has made. This particular penthouse was supposed to have been the developers personal residence, but he has since moved on. There were some changes made to the space (definitely good ones) so this isn’t your cookie-cutter plan.
You enter the penthouse from a private elevator foyer. The space is round and features a trey ceiling and a hidden door leading to the service area. There is also a media room with a screen that drops down from the ceiling. The entire condo has been pre-wired (which cost over $50,000) for anything your heart desires. You can have total home automation, including remote controlled shades. There are a large amount of windows throughout, so the space is always bright and sunny. Major rooms open directly out to the terraces. Click Here for More Photos & the Rest of the Feature

Many buyers of condominiums around the globe simply move into a newly purchased space without doing any alterations. But what happens when buyers take the space and transforms it into what it was really mean to be? The space then becomes stunning and magnificent. I have been in this very penthouse space before it was purchased and I can tell you firsthand the layout needed some tweaking. The space already had gorgeous views of the city but it lacked personality and the rooms needed to opened up. According to the article, the owners took only seven short days to figure out how to change the space. But it took over a year to complete. Attention to detail is the kay here.
One of my favorite rooms in the penthouse is the kitchen. It’s no surprise the kitchen is spectacular, since they own Design Galleria Kitchen & Bath Studio located in Buckhead at Peachtree Hills. I absolutely love the sink, which is made from Striata Mocha marble. It’s a complete departure from the standard developer finishes.
I don’t want to give too much away, so be sure and pick up a copy of the latest issue to see all the photos.
