Our beloved city, Atlanta, was just named the second-best U.S. city to live in by the Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) Global Liveability Index. Honolulu ranked the highest in the U.S. – which isn’t a surprise because it’s Hawaii after all. Atlanta’s overall rank is 29 (out of 173) – not too shabby considering this is a world-wide report.
Atlanta’s Index is 92.3 (There are few, if any, challenges to living standards) on the 2024 GLOBAL LIVEABILITY INDEX
How is the ranking actually compiled? The EIU simply assesses which locations around the world provide the best or the worst living conditions. All cities are assigned a rating of relative comfort for over 30 qualitative and quantitative factors across five broad categories: stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.
