Experience Sushi Bliss, One Bite At a Time
I’ve been going to Tomo for years, long before it moved locations to Buckhead at the base of the Ritz-Carlton Residences. Tomohiro Naito opened his Vining’s location back in 2005, where I discovered him through a good friend. I sat down at the sushi counter for Omakase. Thoroughly impressed by the artful presentation, service and quality of fish, I never looked back. I’ll quietly admit making the trek to Vining’s during traffic to get sushi was tedious, but well worth it.
Fast forward to 2012, Tomo closed the original location and moved to Buckhead. I couldn’t have been more thrilled, especially since it was much closer.

I’ve tried just about every sushi restaurant in Atlanta, but the quality of fish and the people who work there keep me coming back for more. Many of the same people have worked there since the beginning. I always ask for May! Some of my favorite dishes are: Black Cod Boston, Crispy Squid Rings, Hanabi Roll (probably the one I love most), Lobster Roll, Spicy Yellowtale, Tomo Lamb Chops and Kimme-Dai new Style Sashimi. Of course the Nigiri and Sashimi are stellar as well. For dessert, try the Warm Bread Pudding or Chocolate Cube.
It’s been wonderful to see his restaurant still thriving, even as new places open up around the city. I hope you will give it a try sometime and let me know what you think.
