Terminus Penthouse Terrace in Buckhead Reigns Supreme
Atlanta Braves second baseman Dan Uggla has had his very large Terminus penthouse on the market for about three weeks now. He purchased the unit in February 2011 for $1,700,000. This was when Terminus had those really great price drops that many buyers took advantage of. Fast forward to 2014 and it’s now on the market for $2,750,000 (more than a one million dollar price increase).
The unit itself has 4,595 interior square feet and a massive 3,970 square foot terrace. This is the largest penthouse terrace in the city hands down. You just can’t find a terrace this large because they really don’t exist in Atlanta. Developers only build very small terraces for their buildings, which makes this unit much more special. Lets face it, Cousins could have easily put another huge unit on this floor, but they instead chose to provide some very generous outdoor space. Oh, the things I could do with this space. I know you are probably thinking about a pool, but forget it. That is one thing you cannot do here – which is quite unfortunate. But there are a gazillion other practical uses for the space. Why not an amazing garden? Or a guest house? Or both?
The penthouse market is virtually non-existent with only 5 penthouses available with a list price over $1,000,000. Isn’t this the case with most condo inventory in Atlanta right now? It’s extremely difficult to find properties in the newer buildings.
