Watershed Restaurant Opens at The Brookwood Condominium
Watershed restaurant opened at The Brookwood, a 219-unit, mixed-use condominium community located on Peachtree Street in the heart of the historic Brookwood neighborhood. The eatery, owned by Indigo Girls’ Emily Saliers, has received awards and rave reviews on both local and national levels for over twelve years. Watershed’s Chef Joe Truex, a native Southerner, has designed a new menu of Southern-inspired dishes using the freshest ingredients (think local organic growers).
The new space is more comfortable (with great chairs for comfortable dining), more inviting (high ceilings and large rooms) and has a classic elegance about it. Warm brown, grey and gold tones are used throughout each area of the restaurant. There are a lot of natural elements found throughout the space, including the hardwood floors and all the wood on the ceiling in the bar area. Smith Hanes designed the space. You might recognize his work from JCT Kitchen and one my of new favorites, No. 246 in Decatur. I really love the ceiling above the bar and the bar itself. The restaurant has a very familar feeling, but it’s so fresh and well thought out.
I tried the Crabby Shrimp Burger for lunch. It has virtually no filling and is made with shrimp and lump crab meat. They topped the sandwich with slaw, lettuce, tomato and remoulade. Delicious fries came on the side and they were pretty amazing. The burger itself was pretty tasty. Yes, I had a glass of wine too!
Above is the patio. This is a terrific space to dine outside and soak in the sun. Thankfully, the patio is set far back from the street unlike many outdoor spaces in Atlanta. Below is the main dining room.
Go try Watershed Restaurant when you have a chance. The restaurant has been packed in the evening, so be sure to make reservations.
