I was out shopping and went to a really great outdoor furniture shop in Midtown called Kolo Collection. They actually sell the fireplace I was speaking about, as well as another cool idea. The Tower. 

The Tower was inspired by the ‘Padella Romana’, a distinctive lighting feature used in the entrances of wealthy Patrician family residences to symbolise status during the Roman Empire. The Tower is visually striking with its elevated flame atop of a solid plinth, and is ideal for  alfresco areas, or inside a home. 

All products use a flueless fire box that needs no installation or connection to utilities and is fueled by denatured ethanol. That means it’s eco-friendly. While slightly on the expensive side, it’s a terrific alternative to a wood burning or gas fireplace.
