Spectacular 4th of July Fireworks in Buckhead (photos)

The fireworks display last night at Lenox Mall was unbelievable and nothing short of spectacular. Thousands of people made their way to the mall to stake out their spot to watch the show. At one point there were so many people on Peachtree Road, the traffic came to a complete stand still and many people “listened” to the show in their cars.
Additional photos in this post.
I booked a room at The Mansion on Peachtree to get the best possible view I could. I had dinner at Neo, which changed their menu from flawless & expensive Italian to “farm fresh to table” cuisine. The food was really great, portions were larger and the service was fantastic. Neo is the perfect place to have a nice dinner. They are getting away from being a restaurant that is often thought of for special occasions. Make sure you request a table looking into the garden. It is quite beautiful and has matured so much since the hotel opened.

The Mansion was inviting guests to the 36th floor of the residences to enjoy the show, complete with a champagne toast. I declined to join them because my room has such an amazing view, plus is was completely private. The room by the way was really beautifully decorated. I’ll have some photos of it in another post.
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. If you attended the show, please let me know how you liked it and make your comments in this post.

Nice shots Kevin! The first one is by far my favorite; maybe edit tighter next time?

Thanks! It was my first time shooting fireworks, so I’m pleased with the results. Looks like I can take some lessons from you.

I was going to make my way over there, but I was able to see and hear the fireworks from my hotel room in perimeter. I wish I had your spectacular vantage point, great shots!

Based on the lead image, there is not much I can teach
And you nailed it your first time, slower shutter and lower ISO, most people don’t get that. Well done!

Night time shots are the hardest, but I did remember to take my tripod with me!

It’s better than being there! All you need is some audio to complete the experience.
