The Brookwood has been quietly rising in the historical Brookwood Hills neighborhood for quite some time. The exterior of the building is nearly complete and I’m loving the modern windows set against the classic facade. I think the exterior is a really nice compliment to the neighborhood and it blends into the surroundings. If you haven’t driven through Brookwood Hills, you should. It’s a really gorgeous area and it’s conveniently located within minutes from Midtown.

The latest rendering of the new Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Residences looks more like the world-class building I had hoped it would be. It’s sleek, modern profile fits in with the surrounding skyline, but still sets the building apart from it’s neighbors. 

I’m sure there will be some additional renderings showing the street level within a few days. This tower looks somewhat like the Mandarin in Chicago, so if you are curious you can go to the website and take a look.

There has been some discussion as to whether it’s a good time to start building a project like this. It’s going to take up to three years to complete the project. By time the building is finished, it will be a completely different market and economy. Plan for the future.

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Tivoli Properties are expected to announce plans to build a 53 story tower with a Mandarin Oriental Hotel and 71 residences. This is fantastic news for those living near the project. When a major luxury brand like the Mandarin puts down roots, home values tend to go up.

The first phase of 12th & Midtown is well underway to completion and the first closings for 1010 Midtown are scheduled to happen today. I’ll be visiting the building soon, so I’ll be sure to take pictures of the 10 model homes they have – with interiors by Artefacto (one of my favorite places to buy furniture) and also Cantoni. Later this month 1010 Midtown will have it’s grand opening party and I’m sure it’s going to be quite the scene.

It’s always the final touches that make any project really special. Luxe pleases the eyes over and over. Upon entering the building, you’ll walk into a round room with high ceilings, large columns and a beautiful marble floor. It’s a quite elegant space. Take a look at some highlights of the interior spaces.
